Wood Street and NOCoE worked together to build a unique Knowledge Center for the TSMO community of transportation professionals nationwide.
NOCoE has been a client of Wood Street’s for more than 5 years and has engaged Wood Street on multiple design and development projects. Initially NOCoE, a partnership of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITSA) with support from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), hired Wood Street to develop an online knowledge center to serve as a digital suite of resources to serve the transportation systems management and operations (TSMO) community.
Challenges & Solutions
NOCoE was a new initiative when it approached Wood Street to develop its knowledge center. They had the data but needed a design/development team who could bring the center to life. Wood Street worked with the group from AASHTO, ITSA, and ITE to review user studies and map out the user experience and database schema.
There were a lot of moving parts and invested stakeholders making this a difficult but interesting challenge for the team here at Wood Street. The collective team came together to develop a knowledge center that is both easy to use and rich with data, online educational opportunities, discussion, and events. The website is continually being improved and expanded through an ongoing relationship between AASHTO, NOCoE, and Wood Street.
