The American Academy is an honorary society of practitioners who focus on alleviating the struggles and problems in social welfare programs. Wood Street was approached with the task of effectively communicating this in a logo. The colors and the symbolism needed to project a balance of scholastic professionalism with concern and involvement in the social system.
Wood Street developed a logotype that tucked the two “A”’ characters together into a snug, protective symbol. In a similar way, the logo’s mark bonded two abstract “A” characters alongside one another, while indirectly producing a representation of a diploma or rolled legal document. This resulted in an honorary yet involved relationship among the elements of the logo, which was then finalized with an enthusiastic coupling of purple and orange branding colors.
